The treatment

What is compression recovery?

Compression recovery is a sixty-minute session in pneumatic compression boots, priced at $100. The boots are inflatable sleeves worn over the legs. A pump fills and empties the chambers in sequence, so pressure moves from the feet upward, holds, and releases. You stay clothed and seated.

It is a single appointment, not a course. There is no package to buy, no block of sessions, and no schedule you are expected to keep.

It also sits outside skin planning. A compression session is booked for what it is. If the question you actually have is about your skin, the $150 consultation is the appointment for that.

A registered nurse runs the health questions before every session, not only the first. They cover current medical conditions, recent surgery or injury, pregnancy or breastfeeding, any history of blood clots or DVT, cardiovascular disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, peripheral vascular disease, active infection or fever, open wounds, fractures, significant swelling with no known cause, current pain or neurological symptoms, and any implanted medical device. Compression doesn’t suit everyone. Where the answers say it isn’t right for you, the session is declined or postponed, and that is decided one person at a time.
In the room

What happens in a session?

Sixty minutes, three parts, and most of it is you sitting still. You can ask for the session to stop at any point, and it stops.

01 Before

A short check of anything that would make compression unsuitable, then the sleeves are fitted over both legs. You stay in your own clothes.

02 Sixty minutes

The pump inflates and releases each chamber in sequence, from the feet upward. Pressure builds, holds, and eases. You stay seated for the hour. The pressure is adjustable the whole way through — raise it or lower it whenever you want, with the nurse guiding that where it’s needed.

03 After

The sleeves come off and you leave. Most people go straight back to normal activity, and there is nothing to book afterwards. Drink water and keep moving lightly — a walk is enough. If you get discomfort, pain, numbness, unusual swelling or anything you weren’t expecting, stop and call the clinic on 0466 310 045.

Straight answers

What we won’t claim.

Compression is easy to oversell, so here is the page without the selling:

  • We won’t tell you what it does. This page describes a sixty-minute session and stops there.
  • We won’t treat a medical concern with it. Anything about circulation, swelling or pain belongs with a GP, not with us.
  • We won’t sell it as a course. One session, $100, booked when you want one.
  • We won’t put it in a skin plan. It isn’t a skin treatment and it isn’t counted as one.

If that reads as underselling, it is deliberate. The alternative is a promise we can’t stand behind.

All questions

How much does a compression recovery session cost?

A compression recovery session at Glow Cosmetique is $100 and runs for 60 minutes. The price covers the whole session. There is no package, no block of sessions and no add-on. It is booked as a single appointment at the Springvale clinic, 23 Ebony Cl.

What does a compression session feel like?

Inflatable sleeves are fitted over both legs, and a pump fills and empties them in sequence from the feet upward. Pressure builds, holds and eases through the hour. You stay clothed and seated, and you can ask for the session to stop at any point.

Is compression recovery a skin treatment?

No. Compression recovery is a 60-minute compression session at $100 and it is not part of a skin plan. If the question is what suits your skin, the appointment for that is the 90-minute skin consultation at $150, which ends with a written plan you keep.

Do I need a consultation before booking compression recovery?

No. Compression recovery is booked on its own — a single 60-minute appointment at $100 — and most people do not need a consultation first. Everyone completes a health screening with a registered nurse before the boots go on, and that happens at every session, not only the first. Where the answers say compression isn’t appropriate, the session is declined or postponed. If the question is about your skin rather than your legs, that is the separate 90-minute consultation at $150.

The skin question is a different appointment.
