Pure C15

$118 2x15ml

L-ascorbic acid at 15%, with glutathione. Two 15ml bottles — finish one before opening the second.

Vitamin C as L-ascorbic acid at 15% — the form the skin uses directly, and the least stable one. Glutathione and tocopherol are in the formula as fellow antioxidants; tartaric acid holds the pH low enough for the ascorbic acid to stay in usable form.

It is supplied as two 15ml bottles for that reason. Finish the first before opening the second. Vitamin C darkens as it oxidises, and a serum that has gone amber has stopped working.

Used in the morning, antioxidants work alongside sunscreen rather than instead of it. Fifteen per cent can sting on first use, particularly on skin not yet used to Vitamin C.

Actives: Tartaric Acid (AHA), L-Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) 15%, Hyaluronic Acid, Panthenol (Vitamin B5)

Suits: Morning routines. A reasonable place to start with L-ascorbic acid rather than going higher.

Not for: Skin that is currently reactive. Not to be left sitting in daylight.
