Calmwise Serum

A seven-ingredient oil serum with teprenone and sage leaf extract, in a jojoba and silicone base.

Seven ingredients. Teprenone and salvia officinalis (sage) extract are the two actives on the list; the rest is the vehicle — jojoba seed oil, two silicones, caprylic/capric triglyceride, and Vitamin E as tocopheryl acetate.

There is no acid in it, no Vitamin A and no niacinamide. Six drops after cleansing, morning and evening, left to absorb before moisturiser, with sunscreen in the morning.

We are not going to describe it as more than it is. It is a short, uncomplicated leave-on serum, and short is sometimes exactly what a routine needs. Patch test 24 hours before first use.

Suits: Skin that wants something plain between cleanser and moisturiser.

Not for: Skin that dislikes silicones or an oil finish.
