C-Tetra

Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate at 7% in an oil base. An oil-soluble form of Vitamin C, at the lower end of the C-Tetra range.

Vitamin C as tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate at 7% — an oil-soluble ester rather than pure ascorbic acid. It sits in an anhydrous base of jojoba and silicones. There is no water in the formula, which is why it does not darken in the bottle the way an L-ascorbic serum does.

Oil-soluble forms are usually reported as less stinging on first use than water-based Vitamin C at high strength. The trade is that the skin has to convert the ester before it can use it.

Four drops after cleansing in the morning, then sunscreen. Antioxidants work alongside sunscreen rather than instead of it.

Contains grapefruit peel oil and the fragrance components that come with it.

Actives: Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (Vitamin C) 7%

Suits: Most skin states, including skin that has found water-based Vitamin C too sharp.

Not for: Skin that reacts to citrus oils or fragrance — the base carries limonene, linalool and geraniol.
