Post-Treatment Care for PRP

Post-treatment care is critical for maximising the benefits of PRP and ensuring a smooth recovery. Follow these guidelines:

Immediate Aftercare

• Avoid Touching the Area: Do not touch, rub, or massage the treated area for at least 24 hours to avoid irritation or interference with the healing process.
• No Additional Treatments: Avoid skin treatments such as fillers or anti-wrinkle injections for at least two weeks after your PRP session.
• Ice Packs: Apply cold compresses or ice packs for short intervals to reduce swelling and discomfort, as needed.
• Bruising and Swelling: These are normal side effects. Use arnica oil 2-3 times daily to minimise bruising, and avoid alcohol while the area is swollen or bruised.

Ongoing Care

• Keep It Clean: Gently cleanse the treated area using a mild, non-irritating cleanser, and avoid harsh products for several days.
• PRP for Hair Growth and Thickness: Avoid washing your hair or scalp for two days following treatment to allow the PRP to work effectively.
• No Strenuous Activities: Refrain from vigorous exercise and activities that increase blood flow for 24-48 hours post-treatment.
• Sun Protection: Protect the treated areas by applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen and avoiding direct sunlight to prevent irritation and pigmentation issues.
• Avoid Heat: Steer clear of saunas, steam rooms, and hot baths for at least 48 hours after your treatment.
